Hello Drafters
When I submit a job from the Nuke submitter, when I turn on Draft it remembers that I did so the next time I submit the from the same script. In AE, however, it doesn’t. Others here report that it does remember for them, although we haven’t confirmed it (everyone’s busy). Is this some preference I can set? I can crosspost this to the Deadline forum if it helps.
Thanks
Bill
I’ll have a look at the AE script to make sure it’s saving that setting properly; no need to cross-post .
Out of curiosity, does it seem to be saving the other Draft settings for you (template, user, entity, version)?
Yes indeedy, it does remember template, user, entity & version.
Cool - it turns out it just wasn’t being saved. I’ve attached an updated script that fixes it; just extract the zip file to the ‘submission/AfterEffects’ folder inside the repository.
EDIT: Removed the file. See post below for an updated version.
Cheers,
Hey Jon
Thanks for this. It works, mostly. I clicked the box marked “Submit Draft Job On Completion,” ran a test job, closed the window, reopened it, and while the box is checked, the other fields (“Draft Templates,” “User Name,” etc) are filled in but greyed out and uneditable. If I click the “Submit Draft Job” checkbox off and on again, they’re black and editable. Now this could be somewhat useful if the idea is to leave the previous settings as uneditable (but easily made editable if desired) as a default. I guess I’m 50/50, but it doesn’t match the behavior in, say, the Nuke submit script. What do you think?
Thanks again
Bill
Ah, sorry, that’s an oversight on my part. I didn’t have AE installed on my machine so I wasn’t able to test it as thoroughly as I would have liked. I’m installing it right now though, so I’ll finish that and fix this up a bit better.
Cheers,
I’ve attached an updated version that correctly enables the other controls when the checkbox is stickied on; sorry about that. It goes in the same spot as the other one (submission/AfterEffects).
Cheers,
