After Effect, Maxon App and Red Giant Service

Hello! We are installing a new system from scratch, and are in testing phase.

We are running multiple instances (3-5) of After Effects through Deadline concurrent task, and using Red giant plugins installed and licensed through Maxon App, and having issues?

We are experiencing pop-up on render machines saying Red Giant Service is not running. Red Giant plugin will be watermarked

Those pop can happen multiple times, and will result in the process hanging there until we press OK or that we requeue the task through Deadline (manually or by timeout).

Anyone is running Maxon App and Red Giant plugins for After Effects and experience those issues, or have some insight on those? Thxs a lot.

Thanks for reaching out, I have seen issues in the past with the similar workflow (AE+ Red Giant + Concurrent Tasks).

To troubleshoot this further please follow below:

  1. Are you running Deadline Launcher as a service? If you are please run it as an application and retry
  2. Does this issue happen when the concurrent task is set to just 1?
  3. Please share the full job report and the screenshot of the popup
  4. When this popup appears check the Task Manager (if Windows) or current processes to see if RedGiant was running at the time the popup appears
