Hey all, this is a weird issue that’s impossible to research.
The submittion script from After Effects 2024.6.7 works fine, the job submits, I use our normal render settings–we have a farm of CPU only nodes as well as a few GPU enabled ones. We are still running Deadline 10.3.2.1.
Even when there is no GPU processing required, all jobs that are sent to the render nodes come back with ’ 2025-08-04 11:25:34: 0: STDOUT: WARNING:After Effects warning: logged 12 errors, please check log. First error was “error: Unable to Render: File Not Found” ’ and states the supposedly missing footage file location.
But the footage is NOT missing, it’s exactly where it’s been directed. I’ve remoted into the render nodes and opened the AfterEffects project, no issues with finding footage on the render node computer itself.
I’ve tried replacing the footage thinking that maybe it was corrupted, but it doesn’t seem to matter what the footage is, the same error returns pointing to a “missing” footage file. The only connection MIGHT be related to .mov files? But this has never been an issue before.
The only updating I’ve done lately is I realized the render nodes were on an earlier version of After Effects 2024, so I brought them all up to 2024.6.7.
The curious part is the workstation Deadline workers CAN complete the tasks without errors, but I can’t figure out what the sudden difference is between the workstation system and the nodes. There are no issues rendering locally with the Render Queue or Media Encoder.
Any ideas on what’s happening here? I’m just one of our small team’s VFX artists and got forced into trying to solve this, so any help would be greatly appreciated, happy to provide more information.
