After Effects Jobs not Completing

Hi,

We are having more issues with the After Effects Plugin. It appears that it’s not completing tasks properly. It gets to the end stage and then hangs:

We’ve had this on a mix of jobs rendering both frames and movies and rendering both locally and straight to the server. Any thoughts?

Hello Nick,

It’s odd, because it looks like the job has completed. Can you attach a full job report or slave log(whichever is more accurate) to this post? Can you advise how widespread this issue is? Is it reliably reproducible on those machines affected?

Hi Dwight,

I’m not sure I can reliably reproduce this no. I will keep an eye on it though. I had to manually complete the job and it doesn’t seem to have generated the job report because of that. This was in CC 2015. Is it possible it’s linked into the progress reporting and it’s not picking up the return from After Effects?

That is definitely possible, though I think a slave log should get some clarity on that.

This is fixed in upcoming 7.2.1. See attached for a quick AE plugin patch. First backup, then unzip, copy and overwrite the same named file here in your repository: <your_repo>/plugins/AfterEffects/AfterEffects.py
