I want to try krakatoa 2 in 3dsmax 2012 x64 sap, and after starting max the error message apears:
FATAL ERROR: The Helium Schematic Control required by the Krakatoa MagmaFlow Editor was not propertly installed on this system. Please reinstal Krakatoa or edit the plugin.ini file to include the Thinkbox version of Helium plugin.
I installed Krakatoa 2 with everithing, so i dont know where is the problem. I also dont have installed any old helium plugin from lumonix
You obviously need the Helium plugin, it comes bundled with Krakatoa (and has come with it in the past, but under a slightly different form).
So it sounds like your installation did not work correctly.
Locate your Plugin.ini file that contains the path to the Krakatoa plugin - typically it would be in your 3ds Max root folder.
Open it and look at its contents.
On my machine, I see the following
and some other paths, but these two are the absolutely necessary paths that should be included for Krakatoa to work.
The Krakatoa installer is supposed to add both automatically, but you can do it manually.
You will need to have Administrator rights to save the modified plugin.ini file on Vista and Windows 7.
Note that older versions of Krakatoa (1.5.x and 1.6.x) used the Helium version from Lumonix.com, but Krakatoa MX 2 ships with a custom build that was licensed from Lumonix and is independent from older versions of the plugin. It uses a different class name and ID and the two can co-exist. The actual functionality is currently the same, but it gives us the ability to modify the schematic view in the future as we see fit.
Hi Bobo, thank a lot, it looks like instalator only add the krakatoa directory in ini file, the helium i must add. I installed it like admin so it looks like instalator have tris trouble, but i dont know. Is there som different paths related to krakatoa whitch will add all functionality. Thank a lot
