I noticed i can animate the focal depth, but not the depth of field, will this change in the future?
Since the Krakatoa Camera modifier is just a scripted plugin, try opening the file “Krakatoa_PRTChannel_Modifier.ms” found in the Krakatoa\Scripts folder of your installation and change the line
fStop type:#float default:2.0 ui:spn_fstop animatable:false
to
fStop type:#float default:2.0 ui:spn_fstop animatable:true
Then restart Max and see if animating the fstop has the effect you desire. I am not completely sure why it was disabled to start with, but it should be trivial to enable.
thanks bobo, i will try that now–
does this setting get saved in the scene then, or would i have to update the script in max for all computers rendering?
That script should be updated once on all machines you have Krakatoa on. The animation keyframes will be stored with the scene, but if opened in a version of Krakatoa without the changed script, the animation will most probably be ignored (haven’t tried, but expect it to).
jea it will most likely be ignored,
is there a new build coming with this feature enabled? almost seems like a “bug”
just dont want to update all computers here at work, over 14, and then install the latest krakatoa version with that feature disabled again
cheers!
There should be an update of Krakatoa 1.6.x for Max 2012 in the coming weeks. If you can confirm the fix works for you, it might get included.
im too lazy to update the farm so i am just going to be using vray cameras from now on,
but im sure it would be good in the future to have this feature enabled
copy + paste is hard.
my daughter would say “you is silly!”
i would have to login manually to 14 computers to change it, and then when updating krakatoa build the change was useless,
using vray camera is better solution for now
i know i’m sorry – my sarcasm didn’t translate.

there is alot of information that gets lost through the information highway!
