Anyone know how to do distributed rendering of single frames in 3ds max & Corona Renderer?

Configure 3ds Max to not use the local machine, the DR should be run on the network only.

I don’t think Corona has an ‘offload’ DR job like V-Ray does

https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/products/deadline/10.4/1_User%20Manual/manual/app-corona-dr.html

it maybe possible by a 3ds Max offload job, but you’d need to configure the job this way

https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/products/deadline/10.4/1_User%20Manual/manual/app-3ds-max.html

Thanks for the reply, but I don’t even know what an offload job is, and I am not sure what to do.
I felt that I should get support services for beginners, do you know of such places?

Which versions of 3ds Max and Corona are you using? I checked the docs for Corona DR and it doesn’t seem to have the option to disable for the local machine like V-Ray does

It may help just to submit 3ds Max job with the Corona render selected if you wanted to render only on another machine.

There is an option to run an ‘offload’ DBR, which will open 3ds on another machine and run the DR via this machine to the machines specified

https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/products/deadline/10.4/1_User%20Manual/manual/app-3ds-max-smtd.html#v-ray-mental-ray-corona-dbr-options-rollout

more info on this just below

If you do want to use CoronaDR you may need to modify the plugin if you’re using newer versions.

Make sure you’ve downloaded the correct 3ds Max plugins

The 3dsMax CoronaDR plugin doesn’t have the newer versions specified in the installer

likely it will work if you check 2022 then add the 202(5) path instead
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2025

You’ll then have the option to submit via the menu in 3ds Max

but this will still cause local rendering

Thanks for the reply.
I’m a little too busy right now to touch on this, but if it’s too difficult for the experts, then it can’t be done, sadly, so I’ll look into other ways to do it!
Thank you very much, I’ll look into it.

You’d be better off doing a regular 3ds max render with Corona rather than DBR, I’d give that a go

that’s so, isn’t it
Is it possible for 3ds max to automatically assign areas within a frame to a machine and render them like CoronaDR does? From the description of Jigsaw, it looks like you need to set it up yourself.
