When im archiving jobs manually, it seems like its simply using the user’s first name for the zip file… But what if you have say, 100 jobs of the same user selected?
Should it not just name the zip files the same way its being named when auto archiving them?
Due to this naming, previously archived jobs of the same user simply get overwritten…
(i was block archiving around 2000 jobs, and noticed that only around 25 user zips have been generated in 2 hours… whups)
Related to this, i’m noticing a couple of archival naming patterns:
.zip <— manual archive
__
Should it not only be the last one? The others can potentially conflict…
There was an issue with manual archiving, trying to generate a zip file which had a filename too long to be supported by the OS it was being created on. This was fixed, not sure how.
However, the idea of being able to customise the archived zip filename by a studio wide convention is cool and indeed any file conflict should be avoided, by using something unique like the jobID.
Right now im unable to archive jobs manually. Ill try it from a linux machine, maybe that works better
Even from linux, manual archiving just seems to use the first name for the zip file.
Very odd?
I archived 4 jobs from Ethan, and only have:
\inferno2.scanlinevfxla.com\deadline\repository6\jobsArchived\ethan.zip
I just selected 2 jobs (1 x suspended & 1 x completed) in the queue and did a manual archive. All worked as expected on both OSX and Windows.
A *.zip file was created per job with the following syntax:
username__pluginName__jobName__jobID.zip
I’m on beta 10. Apart from that, can’t think of a reason for the difference…?
Dunno what to tell you
I guess thats a bug?
I can’t reproduce this here either. Let us know if you still see this after upgrading to beta 11 when it’s released.
Will do.
This is how our archived folder looks now:
This is still happening with beta11&beta12.
Figured it out. It only happens when the user name has a period in it. This will be fixed in beta 13.
Cheers,
That explains why its so common for us all our users are firstname.lastname
