Are you going to support Maya fluids as Particles?

Hi.

That’s my question, i don’t have experience with KrakatoaMX at all, but i’m enjoying the tests i’m doing in maya, i’m facing a challenge, i have to simulate Flour, and more or less i’m achieving the results i want, it’s a very fine flour, so it’s similar to the desert sand, now i’m doing the simulation throught different tricks, but having the maya fluds represented as millions of particles is a lot better i think.

So, are you going to support it like you do with FumeFX (if i understand it right).

Cheers.

I believe this could be done, yes!

Since Maya fluids work on a voxel grid, the approach we would use would be to seed one or more particles for every voxel, and render the particles. This is how it works when rendering FumeFX voxels also (thinkboxsoftware.com/krak-fu … rendering/). I am not very familiar with Maya fluids, so I would need to do some investigation to see what kind of data we can get out of it.

That’s great!

This could lead to be able to do do very hard simulations with millions of particles that can’t be done in any other way inside Maya

Cheers
