Are you using virtualization for your render nodes

Hi,

I’m looking into xcp-ng or proxmox as it would seem interesting to virtualize our render nodes (I’m thinking of one VM per render machine).

I’m wondering if users of this forum install the deadline client ‘bare metal’ on render blades or if you install it on VM’s.

I searched the forum but found no hits on this

personally I prefer running bare metal and dividing up the nodes with workers if required. we do have some proxmox workstations that divide up a gpu box and can be added to the farm. VM always feels like another overhead unless you have a requirement for it
