Asset Server on a NAS

Im a 3d artist who wishes to use cloud rendering, after using deadline for years to manage renderjobs on two local machines. I have an 8 bay synology NAS that i use as network storage. Am i able to use this as an asset server? its erroring out and saying it cant validate the path.

Hello! You should be able to do that, could you share the error message you’re getting and the version of Deadline you’re setting up?

Just from experience I’ve seen issues using the letter drive names instead of the UNC paths, so it might be worth giving that a shot as well.

There is an issue with the asset directory given. Cannot validate all the settings.

Please check root directory specified.

Would you like to still save the settings?

im going to just use the root of my c drive for now just to get other things working first.

however to continue dealing with this issue i will write here what i have put into the configure asset server settings

host/ip: 192.168.2.14
root directories : 192.168.2.14/P/

is this correct?

ive also tried:

host/ip: 192.168.2.14
root directories : //blackout/P/
(blackout is the name of the nas)
