AWS Houdini / Redshift spot fleet

Having a little trouble with the AWS portal stuff. Currently using the default AMI to launch Houdini engine and Redshift instance. I have UBL enabled and added some credits to my account. The infrastructure runs fine, portal is connected, asset server working (as far as I can tell). Start my spot fleet, gpu button to select gpu instances, click on base AMI for houdini and redshift. It starts up, connects, starts the render, syncs the files, then I get a non-zero fail:

Based on the line:

It could be that that file wasn’t uploaded to S3. You’ll need to check out that AWS Asset Server Logs which live in either %PROGRAMDATA%\Thinkbox\AWSPortalAssetServer\logs\ or /var/log/Thinkbox/AWSPortalAssetServer/.

Look for the name of that file, and ideally it’ll have some extra info about either failing or succeeding to upload the file.

Then sat there for 15 minutes without update. That normal? Looks like something different with this machine than the last. Can’t tell if I got farther or shorter than before.

Looks like what I posted last was just a fluke? Today I am getting an upload error message:

An error occurred (AccessDenied) when calling the CreateMultipartUpload operation: Access Denied

I’ve tried clicking the fix policies button but still the same error. Anything I can try?

Just had a phone call with Deadline support and the issue was resolved with changing a blank IP in the IAM policy that deadline creates.

This was a while ago and there have been some changes to the IAM policies but I believe it was in the AWSPortal IAM policy at the time. Just look through the json if there is an IP allow section.

We solved it too. I think it was a reference to a bucket in the wrong region, left over from before. After cleaning and recreating everything it worked.
