Basic WOL setup struggle

I have this machine i would like to use WOL to wake it up.

I had to setup MagicPacket otherwise it wakes up automatically sometimes… ( I guess something is pinging in the network )

But when I try to Start Machine from Deadline it says " Could not resolve worker name to IP adress.
Among other erros I eventually get after tinkering with options.

The machine WOL seems to be setup just fine, as can do WOL using " Wake-On-LAN Sender 2.0.12" an standalone software for that matter, introducing the name of the machine, MAC address, the Destination Adress and port 7.

additional info:
I activated WOL on the MotherBoard, and NIC options.
I’m not really doing anything fancy on the network nor settings for deadline.
I’m connected through a 10gbe switch… but I guess hardware is not the issue as it works fine with a different software.

I tried several things but I’m out of ideas, why Deadline keeps faling on start that machine?

Thank you!

Hello @Ignacio

The error ^ above seems to be a DNS issue. The hostname could not be resolved to the IP.
Please share the screenshot of your Power Management settings. Also enable verbose Pulse logs, reproduce the issue and check the pulse logs and share if you could not figure out what is going wrong.

Try following the troubleshooting WOL section in Power Management Docs: Power Management — Deadline 10.3.2.1 documentation

Try to run the nslookup from machine running the pulse on the hostname of the machine in question.
nslookup <hostname_of_machine_in_question>

Oh Got it running!

Thank you while tinkering with the options you mentioned, seems I wasn’t starting Pulse as a Primary instance so that was the cause…

Thank you so much!
