I’m running on OSX 10.7.4 trying to connect to the repository via the monitor with no luck. I’m getting the following message:
Any clue what might be going on? We miss the features in the full version of Deadline 5 but it’s worth the trade off if we can get these additional mac boxes on the farm!
Just to confirm, are you trying to connect the v6 Monitor to a Deadline 5 repository or a Deadline 6 one?
Assuming you’re connecting to a v6 repository, the problem could be that the Mac machine is unable to connect to the machine running Mongo using the host name in the database connection settings. These are the settings you specified in the v6 Repository Installer when setting up the Mongo database. If you specified the host name, try specifying the IP address instead to see if that helps. You can do this manually by editing the dbConnect.xml file in \your\repository\settings.
Cheers,
Yeah, everything is Deadline Beta 6 and I’m only having issues from the macs. Is it case sensitive? I’ll try the IP address instead and report back. Thanks.
The host name shouldn’t be case sensitive. The issue is likely a DNS one, as the macs can’t resolve the host name to an IP address. By using the IP address in the settings, the macs skip the host resolution part.
