Hey guys,
It seems that the beta11 installer sometimes restarts the target machine, no questions asked (closes all windows, but no interaction, so any open . It didn’t do it on my machine, but so far it did on 2 machines where deadline was never installed before.
Maybe one of the missing prerequisites trigger a restart? It also seems to happen in the middle of the installation, as deadline does not show up in the start menu after the machine has rebooted.
cheers,
laszlo
deadline does not show up in add/remove programs either.
If i rerun the installer after the reboot, it seems that the first thing it does after “unpacking files” is installing the vc++9 x86 redistributable. If that helps to narrow down which package is making trouble.
cheers,
l
Oh, also happens with the beta10 installer, so the issue might have been around a while
It looks like it’s the VC++ packages that can cause the reboot:

We’ve logged this as a bug.
Thanks!
