I have problems getting this to work.
I have set my nodes in the Vray distributed rendering settings and turned it on.
I have reserved the nodes in Deadline VRay DBR setup.
The reserve job is sent to DL monitor and the slaves start rendering it. ie no actual rendering starts
The nodes only use 10 of a specified 40 max servers.
When I then launch the actual render from the Deadline VRAY DBR, it starts locally on my workstation but doesn’t get picked up by the nodes.
The nodes don’t seem to then start rendering the new job at all and fail on the reserve job.
I also need to launch Vrayspawner using the -numa=4 argument. I presume I add this to the Repository Plugin options and the location of vrayspawner as c:/prog…/vrayspawner2013.exe -numa=4 I think this is the setting I need for four Vray processes on one node, to be launched to use 4 concurrent tasks as specified.
Using the monitor alone, I don’t see how I should be able to add a new spawner job for 4 concs on each machine, using 4 vray instances to produce 40 machines to all work together to render a frame from a 3dsmax Vray scene.
I only seem to be able to get a single 3dsmax instance/process and therefore only a single vray instance on each node. Each node loads and reserves 4 tasks but only renders one at a time and this is why Vray DBR has to be loaded I guess.
If there is a how-to somewhere for DBR in VRay and Deadline, I could make sure I have set everything up properly. I used the V6 webhelp http://www.thinkboxsoftware.com/deadline-6-3dsmax to load scripts to the correct places and adapted it for the VRDBR, I replaced the previous beta plugs for SMTDL, VRayDBR from the submissions folder and to add them to the main menu in Max.
