great work Bobo, long time waiting for this tool

cheers

The video will take two more hours to prepare… Can’t wait to see it.

Just wanted to remind you that I am NOT the one writing Krakatoa, although I do have some input in its design and creation.
What you are using is the combined effort of many people: Conrad Wiebe who is responsible for the stand-alone version, Darcy Harrison who has been developing the Krakatoa MX version for several years now, and not to forget Mark Wiebe who started it back when he was Director of RnD at Frantic Films. I just wrote the scripted UI of Krakatoa MX and the prototype of the Maya Exporter to Krakatoa SR.

Credit where credit is due

Good start!

How about assigning the same color to all pieces so the object appears whole before it breaks?
Try enabling the Lighting Pass Density control and reducing the lighting density a bit to get a stronger scattering effect.
Alternatively, you can switch to Phong Surface Shading (the PRT Volume code generates normals from the surfaces) to get a shiny appearance…

Here are some examples:

(Krakatoa SR doesn’t support the Environment Reflections option yet, but it is on the ToDo list).

Cheers,
Bobo

thx Bobo, well this was a quick test as u can see (some parts didnt shutter well), i was also testing some feature i add to GUI (Export Cam Only) what that actually do, well if ur done (like me) with animation for obj in the scene and u need to change (or add/render more cams) animation for camera u dont need to export everything again, all u need is to check the Export Cam Only option in GUI and exporter will update only the cameras info… (i got this idea from OctaneRender GUI, were i was developer for Maya exporter -> OctaneRender)

well 1st idea was dragon to be the same color but Igor gave me an idea to make it a bit different so we can actually test the color difference and to make sure that everything works…

im going to try now for the new test the with ideas u gave me, and post the new results asap

cheers

p.s. Send my credits to all people who were responsible for this nice tool
