C4D R12 Submission Script Error

Hi,

We’re having an issue with the CINEMA 4D R12 submission python plugin. It appears that even when a group is set, the submission is sent off with group “none”, indicating an error that “there are no slaves in that pool” – which is strange, because a pool hasn’t been setup, just the group.

Submission dialog:

Error on submission:

Group settings in the repo (to show that there are slaves in it):

We have a mixed farm, so there are some slaves that are running C4D and some that aren’t, which is why we specify groups for individual jobs. Submitting the job from the Monitor works fine and we’re able to specify a group properly after the job has been submitted.

This has happened on about 7 separate projects now.

Deadline Version: 5.0.0.44500
Mac OS X 10.6.7
CINEMA 4D R12.043
Reproduction: Python Menu > Plugins > Submit to Deadline. Set a group. Submit job.

Any help is much appreciated – the script works beautifully aside from this issue!

Thanks!

Thanks for reporting this! There was a bug in the C4D submitter that resulted in the Pool and Group being switched during submission. We’ve created a Patches section in the Deadline 5 downloads and uploaded a patch there that fixes this problem:
