Hello,

Hi litote.
There isn’t a way to change the particle size, but depending on the effect you wish to achieve, you may be able to accomplish it by increasing the final pass filter size when using bilinear filtering. The particles will appear to have a larger radius, but will appear blurry.
More information can be found here: thinkboxsoftware.com/krak-bi … ilter-size
That page was originally written for Krakatoa for 3ds Max, but the same information applies to Krakatoa for Maya as well.
Krakatoa also supports depth of field effects which might also be of some use to you here depending on what you’re trying to do: thinkboxsoftware.com/krak-depth-of-field/
In addition to what Evan said, the Density of the particle can make it appear smaller when rendering sub-pixel sized effects. For example, if you are rendering a row of particles on a line (e.g. a hair strand made from particles), varying the Density from 1.0 to 0.0 produces the effect of thinning from root to tip.
In the following image of hairy teapots, the upper left uses a Density Falloff of 0.3, while the bottom right uses no falloff, producing strands of equal thickness:
But I am sure you were asking about rendering particles larger than a pixel. Krakatoa was not designed to do that.
Thank you!
