Clone Instance functionality not working?

Hi

Amazon is configured quite happily with the new Cloud Providers panel, but I can’t generate any new instances using the Clone Instance command. Terminating instances works as it always has. This behaviour occurs in a VPC, as well as in a publicly-addressable instance.

Any ideas? Running Beta 7.

Thanks

Tom

Hey Tom,

Is it still starting up VMs, and they’re just not configured properly? Or are you not getting any machines coming up at all? Looking through the plugin, I realized that it’s just hardcoding the Key and Subnet ID, which really shouldn’t be happening. I’ll fix for sure, and do some more testing to make sure this at least works on our end.

Cheers,

  • Jon

Hey Jon

Sorry for the late reply. The machines aren’t coming up at all. It was working before, but it didn’t respect VPC membership: any new instances were spun up outside the VPC. Now the clone functionality doesn’t work all, regardless of origin.

Thanks!

Tom

Hey Tom,

Are there any error messages in the Monitor’s Console window? If there are any issues with the Amazon plugin they should be showing up there.

Yes, this is what shows up in Console:

2013-10-16 17:38:15: The subnet ID ‘subnet_id’ does not exist

Thanks

Tom

Hey Tom,

Gotcha, that should be fixed by the change I’ve put in already – in the next beta you’ll be able to specify the Subnet ID in your Cloud Region configuration.

Cheers,

Thanks Jon. I’ll watch out for the next beta.
