Hey all:

Has anybody been able to get Deadline to send the completion emails through the built-in options? First thing that is odd is no matter how I try to input text in the “User Name” and “Password” fields it always shows up blank. I dunno if that is just Secrets hiding the text after it is entered and it is actually there?

I am pretty sure the SMTP Server and info is correct, as I have used it for other Python/Flask scripts. But Deadline does not seem to work, and the test email section just always times out and/or just crashes.

Assuming you didn’t get an error storing the user name and password for the SMTP server auth they’re there but hidden.

The only wrinkle I can think of for Deadline’s email notification is that it’s the client that sends the email, not the database or RCS machine. So the Monitor you’ve got open is what’s attempting to send the test email, and the Workers running the tasks will be sending email.

Maybe the machine you’re on doesn’t have permission to send email via that server?
