Controlling particle properties (like emission) ?

Hi there

I watched some of Mathisas. M. videos and noticed that he very often has a setup so the particles emit light at the begining but then the emision fades over time.

One method I found out is to just use the copy channel node. But that does not give me the control I want.

Is there another workflow?

It would be great if the user would be able to map other channels (like age) onto other channels (like emission) with an gradient or a curve so you can exactly control the particles behavior over time.
I think this would offer much more features with Krakatoa.

Matthias actually uses an Omni light with a falloff at the Emitter. So it is mostly creative lighting, and I am pretty sure you could do that with KC4D and X-Particles or probably even TP.

That’s what Magma does. It is a large project and not planned for the first release of KC4D.
Watch the KMX and KMY Magma videos to see what you can do with that…

Hi Bobo

thanks for the fast answer and the explanation of Mathias M´s workflow.

About Magma:
I see… Would be awesome if Magma would be developed for C4D. But I can understand that you first want to see how Krakatoa performs!
