Are there any plans afoot to support Corona Render? If not, can I please submit it as a request.
I imagine the integration would be similar to Maxwell for a standard job, and VRaySpawner for the distributed rendering ‘DRServer.exe’ aspect

Hey Matt,
We’ll definitely add this to the wish list. I checked their site, and it looks like they’re still in the early alpha stages. We would probably prefer to wait until it’s in beta, as I imagine the command line interface will stabilize at that time. Are you guys using the standalone version or the 3ds Max version? If it’s the latter, there is a good chance it will already work with Deadline.
If you guys have anybody that’s familiar with Python, you could always write your own plugin for it as well.
Cheers,
Ryan
Hey Ryan.
Sounds good. It’s alpha but really stable. We’re using it in production it is so reliable. We use the 3DS Max plugin, so will explore how usable it is currently.
We’ll have a look at writing our own plugin. I’ll add it here if all goes well.
Since you’re using the 3dsmax plugin, you should be able to simply select it as your renderer in the max render settings, and then submit to Deadline like you would any other max job. If it doesn’t work, send us the logs and we can take a look.
A Corona plugin would only need to be written for the standalone version.
Cheers,
Ryan
