Couple additional minor Shotgun notes

Hey guys,

This list keeps getting smaller…

  • The ability to map the JobID to a Shotgun Version field isn’t in the Event Plugin config. By default it should be blank as there is no default field for this in Shotgun, but if provided it should save the Deadline JobID as a string to the Shotgun Version.
  • If there is a field misconfigured in the event plugin config, you get a pretty raunchy error (at least during the Nuke submission). This isn’t a blocker by any means, but it would be nice to catch the exception and simply return a simple error like “There was an error updating Shotgun, see the logs for more details” and then spit out the details to the logfile.

Really aside from that I think everything is working as expected. Nice job! Can’t wait for the OS X version of Draft.

Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to test on OS X in the meantime. And will this be the last build pre-Siggraph?

Thanks for the continued feedback

I’ve made the following changes that will be in the next build:

  • Updated error handling on submission to catch errors and display a nice error message. Verbose errors can be turned on in the event plugin config (turned off by default).
  • Also changed the new Version creation to only include fields that have actually been mapped (ie, if user hadn’t entered anything for the frame range field code, it won’t try to add that in)
  • Added ability to map JobID field
  • Changed ‘Requeued Status’ to ‘Queued Status’ (Turns out you were totally right about that a couple builds ago. Oops.)

As for when the next build will hit, we are planning on making another release next week (pre-siggraph); we’re thinking probably on Wednesday or Thursday.

Cheers,

  • Jon

awesome. That’s all great news. Nice job guys!
