Crash or dialog when using Krakatoa File Update

1.0.1.30288

  1. Create Pflow system with Krakatoa File Birth -> Send Out -> Krakatoa File Update -> Display

  2. Load PRTs into both the Birth and Update operators.

Expected: Not sure yet, probably being able to switch around channels, so we could get Mapping 2 from Position so we could assign some new colors with Box#3.

Actual: If the PRT has no ID channel, I get a crash. If it does have an ID channel, I get this dialog…

    ---------------------------

    ParticleFlow Channel Interface Error

    ---------------------------

pflow_particle_interface::init_channels - Could not obtain the pflow NewR interface.

    ---------------------------

    OK

    ---------------------------

In the case of the PRT with no ID, I don’t want a crash, but if I set the Update and Birth ops to “Single Frame Only” I would still expect it to assign the ID based on the order of the point in the file (or in the loading).

Thanks!

We were able to repro both problems and are fixing them now. (These things used to work previously, but were broken later probably while implementing the channel remapping).

Note that the File Birth warns if a file is missing IDs and uses their order in the file for the ID channel. File Update should behave the same and should of course not crash.
