Just thought I’d share this as the most recent Deadline documentation I can see says that from CS5.5 onwards After Effects needs to be fully licensed to be used on any render farm. While this might be true for CS5.5 (I’ve not tested) Adobe have some documentation of how to set up CS6 for a render farm. Slightly odd but worked for me.
