Hello!
We have a couple of custom submission scripts here. They have their own icons that show up in the submit drop down menu in deadline monitor.
But after the job has been submitted the icon in Ico column is just the plain python icon.
What am I missing?
The job icon is grabbed from the Deadline plugin that the job uses for rendering. The icons are stored in the plugin folders in \your\repository\plugins. So if you have a custom plugin, you can give it an icon, and that icon will show up next to the job in the Monitor: thinkboxsoftware.com/deadlin … -_Optional
hmm ok, then there must be something else that is wrong.
The plugin folder looks identical to the example in the documentation, the icon even works in the Plugin Configuration dialog. It just in the job panel I get python instead.
Ah Ive got it now!
Checked the resolution once more before I was going to send it over. And realized that it was to big, I had grabbed the ico file from somewhere and it was 32x32. Just had to scale it down.
So now it works.
I don’t think higher resolution is necessary for the tiny rows in Deadline, only if the job list supported the same icon files/formats as the menus do. That’d be great.
Hi Ryan. Like I said in my post in the beta forums, I really like and agree with the paired down interface however for the submit menu I would personally really like to at least have the option of turning those icons on.
The submit menu gets well traveled (at least here) and it’s nice to be able to go directly to the relevant menu item by looking at the icon when its 4AM and type no longer registers with my brain.
