Hey,
We have some job submissions on our farm that are Houdini_IFD Houdini_ROP and then Mantra jobs submitted as dependent on those. When the IFD or ROP jobs finish, the Mantra jobs still stay dependent on a job that finished long ago. The only way we’ve seen to fix this is to release it as being dependent on any job. They are set up as frame dependent so they should be releasing dependencies for tasks that complete on the IFD/ROP jobs, yet they never do. Has this been brought up in the past? We don’t really know how to troubleshoot this or make it work. Any pointers is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Brett,
This doesn’t appear to be a problem in Deadline 3.1 and the current 4.0 beta. It may be possible that this is a bug in 2.7. Have you had any problems with regular (non-frame) dependencies? Maybe that could be a workaround until you guys are able to upgrade. At least it would remove any need to manually resume the jobs.
Things to check for debugging purposes:
- Are the the frame #'s align for both jobs? For example, Task 0 for both jobs represents frame 1, Task 1 represents frame 2, etc.
- Are the chunk sizes the same for both jobs? This shouldn’t be a factor, but if the chunk sizes are different, maybe try making the same to see if you see different results.
Cheers,
