Deadline 3.1 SP1 - Maya 2010 Patch

is there a timeframe for Maya 2010 submission support?

Official Maya 2010 support will be included in the next Deadline release, which is due out around the end of November. In the meantime, attached is a patch that adds Maya 2010 support to Deadline 3.1 SP1. First, make a backup copy of the following files, just in case:

\your\repository\plugins\MayaBatch\MayaBatch.dlinit
\your\repository\plugins\MayaBatch\MayaBatch.param
\your\repository\plugins\MayaCmd\MayaCmd.dlinit
\your\repository\plugins\MayaCmd\MayaCmd.param
\your\repository\scripts\Submission\MayaSubmission\MayaSubmission.py

Then unzip the attached file to \your\repository.

Finally, you may need to reconfigure your MayaCmd and MayaBatch plugins to point to the correct render executables.

Cheers,

We are about to deploy this patch to our renderfarm, are there any known issues or bugs/workarounds we should be aware of?

Cheers!

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

There are no known issues.

Cheers,
Ryan

Setting up was as easy as you discribed;
after changing the ‘2009’ version entry in our custom submission scripts to ‘2010’ we were good to go and are happily rendering our senes. Great

Hi Ryan,

Is there already any news of the new release of deadline so that Maya 2010 submission is supported?

Thank you,
Lieven

Deadline 4.0, which includes Maya 2010 support out of the box, should be released in January. This patch adds support to 3.1 SP1 though, so if you are running the latest Deadline version and need to render with Maya 2010, this patch will do the trick.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Alright,

Looking forward to that!

Hi can you elaborate a bit more on how to do this, we a little stuck at this part. Thank you

In the Monitor, while in Super User mode, click “Options->Configure Plugins…” and make sure the render executable paths for both MayaCmd and Mayabatch are configured properly for the versions you intend to render with. These executable fields must contain the location where the Slaves have Maya installed locally on the machines (ex. “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\bin\Render.exe”). If it might be installed in several different locations, you can have multiple paths separated by a “;”.

MayaCmd should point to the “Render.exe” executable, while MayaBatch needs to point to the “MayaBatch.exe” executable.

Hi, maybe i should make a new thread for this, but i get this error after setting up the plugin configuration.

Thanks again for the help.

Nevermind, we figured it out. When we updated our repository was installed somewhere else.
