Deadline 4.0/4.1 - Patch for 3dsmax 2009/2010 hotfix

If you have installed this hotfix, you will discover that that 3dsmax 2010 will crash when trying to render with Deadline, and you will get a render error similar to this:

Scheduler Thread - Render Thread 0 threw an error:
Scheduler Thread - An error occurred in StartJob(): 3dsmax startup: Error getting connection from 3dsmax: Monitored managed process “3dsmaxProcess” has exited or been terminated.

2010/08/08 23:37:58 ERR: Error loading *.max file
2010/08/08 23:37:58 DBG: Stop network

This is because of some changes that were made to the Backburner libraries. 3dsmax 2009 has a similar hotfix that also affects rendering with Deadline. This patch will address both 3dsmax 2009 and 2010 rendering issues.

To install, follow these steps:

1. Backup deadlineStartupMax2009.xml and deadlineStartupMax2010.xml in the 3dsmax plugin folder in the repository (\your\repository\plugins\3dsmax), just to be safe.

2. Unzip the attached file to the same folder.

After installing the patch, submit a new 3dsmax 2009 or 2010 job, and the problem should no longer occur. Note that this problem will be addressed in Deadline 4.1 SP1.
