Important
We do not consider Deadline 6 to be production ready at this point. If you are in production, we still urge you to install Deadline 6 on a few machines and give us feedback. The faster we track down any bugs that exist, the faster Deadline 6 will be ready for production. Please use the appropriate sub-forums to discuss the software and post bugs or suggestions.
This beta release includes support for Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX.

What’s New In Deadline 6.0.49200 (Beta 6)
This release primarily fixes a bunch of bugs and adds a few more features that were missing. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to add any new plugin support for this release.
General Improvements
- The Deadline applications should no longer crash if they lose connection to the database.
- Event plugins have been enabled again, and the Shotgun and Draft event plugins have been updated to work with Deadline 6.
- The integrated submission scripts should now work properly on Mac OSX.
- The Power Management log has now been hooked up to the database.
- Frame dependent jobs are now resumed properly.
Installer Improvements
- Fixed the error that the Linux Client installer displayed when installing the Launcher as a daemon on Fedora.
Monitor Improvements
- When modifying the tasks for a completed job, any new tasks will start in the Queued state instead of the Completed state.
- Existing statistics for completed tasks are now maintained when modifying tasks for a job.
- The Task List is now updated properly when modifying tasks for a job.
- Added Job List right-click option to complete a job.
- Added Task List right-click options to requeue and complete tasks.
- Added Job List column to show concurrent task count.
- Fixed an error that would occur when trying to display tasks for a job with a pre and/or post job script.
- The Monitor no longer needs to be restarted to recognize changes in the Monitor scripts (General, Submission, etc).
- The User section of the status bar is now highlighted with orange while in Super User mode.
- The Last Update section of the status bar is now highlighted with red if the Monitor has not received an update from the database in 30 seconds.
- Estimated remaining job time is now working properly.
- Task rendering times now update automatically instead of always sitting at 0.
- Task times now get reset when requeueing a job.
- Fixed the Requeue Report message when requeuing tasks from the Monitor.
- The Requeue Job shortcut is now Ctrl+E. We don’t want to use Ctrl+Q because that conflicts with the standard shortcut for quitting applications on Mac OSX.
- The Monitor Options dialog now exists, but the available options still need to be hooked up.
- There is now a Tools -> Configure User Group Permissions UI to configure user permissions and groups, but it still needs to be hooked up.
Launcher Improvements
- Fixed an error with displaying general scripts in the Launcher’s Scripts menu.
Slave Improvements
- Fixed a threading issue while in -nogui mode that would cause the slave to hang after a task it was working on was requeued.
- The Slave UI now shows the current job data properly.
- The Slave UI is much more responsive now when lines start disappearing off the top of the log.
- When connecting to a remote slave’s log, you now get the last 2000 characters the slave printed out before you connected. This gives you a better sense of what the slave is currently doing when you connect.
- The drop down filter in the remote slave log window is now populated.
3dsmax Improvements
- An ERROR message is no longer printed to the log when the FailRender function is called within the PollUntilComplete function.
