What’s New In Deadline 6.1.52824 (Beta 6)
This release includes a new Monitor Layout management tab in the Monitor Settings in the Repository Options. System-wide Monitor layouts can be added here, and if their Pinned option is enabled, they will show up in the Pinned Layouts menu in the Monitor on all machines.
In the Manage User Groups dialog, you can select one of these saved layouts as the default layout for that user group. The Priority setting is used as a tie breaker if a user is part of more than one group with a default layout. When a user selects View -> Reset Layout, it will reset to their user group’s default layout instead of the normal default. Finally, if the Reset Layout On Startup setting is enabled, the Monitor will always start up with that layout when it is launched.
A bunch of bugs were also fixed in this release.
General Improvements
- Fixed a regression where the Deadline applications weren’t caching the system Python environment variables properly, resulting in them passing their custom Python environment when launching other applications.
- Fixed a “Scope ‘EventPluginScope’ does not exist” error that could occur when processing Event plugins.
- During submission, jobs with comments weren’t having the date/time set properly in their comment tag.
Installer Improvements
- The Repository installer now includes the boto python package for the Amazon cloud plugin.
- The Repository installer now includes the Azure and OpenStack_Private clould plugins.
- The Repository installer now includes some missing files from the Shotgun API.
Launcher Improvements
- All dialogs now have the Launcher icon instead of the default icon.
- The Remove Slave Instances dialog is now just a multiselect list, instead of a checked list (since the checkboxes were hard to see, and there was no ‘easy’ way to change that with our current color palette).
Monitor Improvements
- Monitor layouts can now be saved in the Repository options. The can be pinned to everyone’s Monitor, and set as a default layout for user groups.
- Added functionality to view/export submission parameters (ie, Job/Plugin info file contents) for a job, in the Job Properties dialog.
- Fixed a bug where custom image viewers weren’t being spawned properly on OSX.
- The Scan For Missing Output dialog is now disabled for Tile and Maintenance jobs.
- Added a notification at the end of importing/exporting jobs.
- Added ‘Find’ (CTRL-F) functionality to the report panels, history dialogs, and the console panel.
Command Improvements
- The GetJob command (and other commands that print out job properties) no longer prints out the Properties object.
- The GetJob command (and other commands that print out job properties) no longer print out some legacy job properties that are no longer used.
- Added some commands to get the submission info from an existing job (GenerateSubmissionInfoFiles, JobSubmissionInfoFromJob, and PluginSubmissionInfoFromJob).
Script API Improvements
- Added GetCloudPluginsDirectory() to RepositoryUtils.
3ds Max Improvements
- Fixed Multi-Region rendering and assembly of Render Elements.
- Removed some implicit property changing when Draft assembly is enabled. Will rework those options soon.
Draft Tile Assembler Improvement
- Logging is more verbose.
- Updated Softimage, Maya and Modo Submitters to create tile assembly config file in output location (still need to update the 3dsmax script).
Softimage Improvements
- Replaced some tabs with spaces in one of the integrated submission scripts.
VRay DBR Improvements
- Added a Monitor submission script to simply reserve slaves for DBR rendering.
- Fixed a potential ‘STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW’ error in the Maya VRay DBR submitter.
