What’s New In Deadline 6.2.0.24 (Beta 8)

This release adds a new integrated submission script for modo, with better tile rendering support. This release also adds interactive VRay DBR support to Softimage, and works the same as the existing VRay DBR support for 3ds Max and Maya. Finally, a bunch of bug fixes and minor improvements have been made.

Installer Improvements

  • Added uninstaller question to Repository Installer to ask if the database should be uninstalled as well. It defaults to No.
  • Added some missing files to the Repository Installer (32 bit linux licensing binaries, modo dbr scripts, and google cloud plugin files).

Monitor Improvements

  • In the Search box, spaces are now replaced with “.*” under the hood when building up the regular expression. This makes searching for multiple terms easier.
  • Fixed some Slave Settings tool tips in the Repository Options.

Pulse Improvements

  • The REST API now returns 501 (Not Implemented) instead of 404 (Not Found) when trying to use Get, Put, Post, or Delete if they are unsupported.
  • When pending or releasing pending tasks via the REST API, an error is no longer returned if the job is suspended.

Draft Improvements

  • Improved the logging in the assembler script for Draft Tile Assembler jobs.

Houdini Improvements

  • When overriding the output in the Monitor submission script, the $F04 syntax now works properly.
  • When submitting a dependent Mantra job from the integrated Houdini submitter, you can now explore the output from the Manta job in the Monitor.

modo Improvements

  • Added new integrated submission script for modo, with better Tile Rendering support.
  • In integrated modo DBR submitter, changed Update GUI button text to Update Servers.
  • In integrated modo DBR submitter, added “Distributed Render” to default job name.
  • In integrated modo DBR submitter, removed check to see if any slaves had picked up the job before starting the render. The render work just fine if it has no other nodes to connect to. It’s not ideal, but we shouldn’t prevent it.

Softimage Improvements

  • Cleaned up the integrated submitter a bit (removed checkboxes on the left side of the controls).

VRay DBR Improvements

  • Added VRay DBR support for Softimage.
