Is there a way to test DL6 without segmenting the farm? Can I just update the repository and some nodes, but leave others… I really want to test it out but am a little worried about putting the whole farm on beta…
Can I have both 5 and 6 installed on the nodes just pointing to different repositories?

Hey Andrew, not sure whether it’s because it’s beta but it seems to install to a separate directory ‘deadline6’. I’m trying it side by side on a machine using different repo locations and it seems to be working ok.
Of course I wouldn’t recommend using it on production machines, never test anything on production machines 
Deadline 6 does install to a separate directory by default now, and all system/user settings are also stored in a separate directory from previous versions. Even the submission scripts that you install on your workstations have been renamed to avoid conflicts.
The only thing to note is that the submission scripts assume that the Deadline bin folder is in your PATH. This means that if you are switching between using Deadline 5 and Deadline 6 on the same machine, you’ll have to update your PATH variable to put the appropriate version first.
