Deadline 6 Beta - set a new frame range?

Hello,

Can someone please tell me how to set a new frame range, for a job that has already been submitted to Deadline?

We are working with Deadline Beta 6. Currently, if we want to change the frame range on a job, that job must also be re-submitted for the changes to take effect.

Here are the steps we have been following:

  1. In the Deadline Monitor tool, find the job in the “Jobs” panel and right-click the job name to bring up the options menu. Click on the option for “Modify Frame Range”.

  2. In the popup window, replace the default full Frame List with the new range you want, i.e. “10-20”. Leave the Frames Per Task option set at its default value of 1. Click OK to save the changes.

  3. Under the “Tasks” panel, the frame list will refresh itself with the specified frame range listed at the top. Right-click the job name again, and click on the option for “Resubmit Job”.

  4. In the popup window, confirm that the correct frame range is set. Leave the Task Group Size option set at its default value of 1. Make sure the checkbox for Suspend Job On Submission, is not checked. Click OK to re-submit the render job with the new frame range.

  5. Click OK when presented with the Resubmit Job Confirmation popup. A new confirmation popup window will appear with the new Job ID value.

  6. The job has now been successfully submitted to the render farm, for the new frame range only.

… Can someone please confirm this is how it should be done?

Thanks lots!

Steps 1) and 2) should be all you need to do.
If the job is Suspended, you might have to Resume it or Requeue it if you want to reprocess any tasks that have already been finished.

Why are you resubmitting the job?

Or, if you have to resubmit the job, you can just specify it when you resubmit it, rather than changing it in the original job first.
