Deadline 6 & Maya Error

Hi,

we have just started migration from Deadline 5 to Deadline 6 and pretty much hoped this would go as smooth as possible. However changing to new clients worked like a charm so far (although it is pretty annoying you cannot export the old descriptions, comments and stuff), but our main tool which is Maya won’t work at all.

We have integrated the new submission script as described but it won’t start and just sits in there saying:

SubmitJobToDeadline;
running deadline command: -getrepositoryroot
running deadline command: -pools
running deadline command: -groups
// Error: No object matches name: vraySettings.sys_max_threads //

The old version of 5 worked great and we assumed it would be just a “replacement” but it seems it is not. Funnily if VRay is deactivated in “Plug Ins” the script runs just fine. After VRay gets activated again the script runs as well. Restarting and trying again leads to the error message.

Any ideas why this comes up and what to do?

Thank you very much in advance.

EDIT:
Just narrowed it down and it seems this error only appears if the scene is empty, but VRay is standard renderer. As soon as the scene gets even one simple object, the error is gone. Weird… :smiley: Okay I admit who would want to submit an empty scene… :wink:
