What’s New In Deadline 7.0.0.49 (Release Candidate 3)
This is the third release candidate for Deadline 7, and mainly fixes a bunch of bugs.
Here are the highlighted changes:
General Improvements
- Fixed an error that could occur when collecting the active instances from Google Cloud.
- On Linux, there is now a dpython shell script in the Deadline bin folder that calls the original dpython executable instead of a symlink.
Installer Improvements
- Updated left side image in the installers.
Launcher Improvements
- You can no longer bring up multiple Change Repository, Change License Server, etc, dialogs at the same time in the Launcher. If the same dialog is already opened, it is brought to the front.
- The Launcher icon now appears much quicker when the launcher is starting and is unable to connect to the repository.
- Auto-configuration in the Launcher now connects to the new repository if the repository is changed.
- Launcher icon’s tooltip now shows the current repository path, and if it’s connected or disconnected.
Monitor Improvements
- When cloning Google Cloud instances in the Cloud Panel, their tags are now cloned as well.
- You can now minimize floating data panels in the Monitor.
- Fixed a bug when double-clicking the title bar of a maximized floating data panel. If the UI was unlocked, the panel would automatically get docked instead of returning to its previous size.
- Fixed wording in the Archive Jobs success dialog.
Slave Improvements
- Fixed a bug that was causing slaves to be marked as stalled when the OS shut them down.
- If the option is enabled to only use the job’s environment during rendering, and the job’s environment list is emtpy, the render process will now start with an empty environment instead of the slave’s current environment.
- Fixed a bug that could result in a rare case where a slave doesn’t update the timestamp properly when saving its state to the database.
Pulse Improvements
- Added a Pulse setting to specify a specific port that pulse should listen on.
- Fixed a bug that caused Pulse to display the wrong listening port in the Pulse UI.
Scripting Improvements
- Fixed a bug that prevented some debug messages from getting printed out when DebugLogging is set to True in the application plugin’s dlinit file.
3ds Command Improvements
- Fixed some bugs in the integrated submitter.
3ds Max Improvements
- SMTD - Fixed some typos.
- SMTD - Improved robustness in some areas.
- SMTD - Fixed a bug where not having a path in the ‘Split Render Channels’ path caused an error during the submission of the Tile Assembly Job.
- SMTD - Fixed the “—Unable to convert: undefined to type: String” bug during non-Draft (using old Tile Assembler) tile job submissions.
- SMTD - Updated all help URL’s to work with new Thinkbox docs site.
Draft Improvements
- Set Draft Tile Assembler plugin to hide any DOS windows created during assembly process.
