Deadline 7 (C4D) - Doesn't render frames

Today I’ve installed version 7 of Deadline and I inmediately encounter a problem.

I’ve installed everything. From the repository (that is shared and accesible for other computers) to the client(s) on the workstation and the single slave.
I can submit jobs and they are visible in Deadline Monitor. And for a while it looks like everything is working, the slaves pick up the job and start working on it… for 3 seconds. While a single frames takes 30 seconds to render on itself. It also doesn’t save the frames on the given directory path and it just looks like it skips them all in 3 seconds, goes to the next (10) frames and then is finished. Without delivering anything at all… So, I’m stuck and can’t do anything at this given moment.

Cheers!

Did you restart the client machines after installing the Deadline client? I have experienced similiar errors without restart. During installation the VC redis… from microsoft is installed.
Depending on if you had installed that package already or not the machine needs a restart.

If the error still persists you can check on one of the clients if commandline rendering works without Deadline. You will need c4d command licenses for netrender with Deadline.
Under the hood the Deadline slave starts Cinema 4D.exe with the arguement -nogui …

e.g.
“C:\Program Files\MAXON\CINEMA 4D R10\CINEMA 4D.exe” -nogui -render “C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\test.c4d” -frame 100 300

Cheers

Julius, thanks for the post, that’s precisely what I would have asked
