What’s New In Deadline 8.0.0.40 (Beta 2)
This release includes a bunch of bug fixes and improvements. It also adds support for Iray for Maya.
General Improvements
- The About text for the Deadline applications has been updated to include a link to our new Deadline Privacy Policy Agreement (deadline.thinkboxsoftware.com/privacy-policy).
- Fixed a bug that prevented path mappings from working if there were no regions defined in the repository options.
Installer Improvements
- Added --region command line option to the Client installer.
Launcher Improvements
- Renamed the “Do Not Cache Scripts” menu item in the Launcher to “Keep Local Repository Cache”.
Monitor Improvements
- Increased the default width of the Configure Plugins dialog so that horizonal scrolling in the plugin list isn’t required on OSX.
- Fixed a bug that caused a System.OverflowException when updating the estimated remaining render time in the job list.
- Fixed a few errors that occured when items were added or removed from the Remote Commands panel.
- Fixed a bug in the sandbox process that could cause the Monitor to crash on exit on Linux and OSX.
- Added buttons to the “Import Settings” Wizard to select all settings, select none, and invert the selection.
- The “Import Settings” Wizard can now import from a repository connection through a proxy server.
- Updated a bunch of icons.
- Fixed the tab order in many sections of the Repository Options.
- Added descriptions for the fields in the Usage Based Licensing area of the Repository Options dialog.
- Enabling/disabling Super User Mode no longer invalidates the job panel’s sorting.
Slave Improvements
- Fixed a NullReferenceException that could occur when a slave tried to dequeue a task.
- Fixed a bug where jobs for plugins with no limits where not being dequeued.
- The slave now confirms that all auxiliary files that were submitted with the job are properly synced to the slave machine before rendering.
Balancer Improvements
- Fixed a memory leak caused by the default balancing algorithm.
Scripting Improvements
- Added RepositoryUtils functions to delete slaves, pulses, balancers, and proxy servers from the Repository.
3ds Max Improvements
- Fixed some bugs with how the integrated submitters were getting the Deadline repository root folder.
Maya Improvements
- Added support for Iray for Maya.
