Note that in order to update Python to the new build (2.7.11), the Deadline 8 Client will need to be re-installed on Slave machines (instead of relying on auto-update). It is recommended that you uninstall the previous client before installing the new version, in this case. This is only required if updating from a version older than Beta 9.

This release includes a bunch of bug fixes and improvements.
Application Improvements
General Client Improvements
- Fixed a bug with the local cache folder permissions that could prevent client applications from running.
Installer Improvements
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Repository installer from pulling current Database connection settings.
Launcher Improvements
- Fixed LaunchWebServiceAtStartup ini setting to work properly.
- Fixed a bug that would temporarily show ‘Change User’ in the right-click menu in spite of that feature being disabled in the current repository.
- Fixed a bug that prevented changing regions from the Launcher when not connected to a Repository.
- Updated Launcher to perform connections in a background thread, to prevent locking up the UI.
Monitor Improvements
- Increased the maximum value of the Limit Overage option in the Limit Dialog.
- Improved the docked versions of the filters to be more compact horizontally.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Monitor from loading if there was an incomplete Plugin folder present in the Repository.
Slave Improvements
- Fixed a bug that prevented Requeue Reports from getting updated with Slave logs.
- Fixed a bug where the Slave could get a 413 error when the creating Job Reports over the proxy.
- Fixed a bug where multiple Slaves with the same name could be started on Linux/Mac if passed a name argument with different casing.
- Fixed a bug on Windows that could cause the Slave to appear Stalled when it was still active and Rendering.
- Fixed a bug that would cause the Slave to lock up if it lost connection to the Repository file share.
- Fixed a bug where non-sandboxed Slaves weren’t creating Job Reports properly.
- Improved UBL render-time tracking to be more accurate.
Integration Improvements
3dsMax Improvements
- Changed the tile rendering mode to not be sticky by default.
- Fixed a bug in the 3dsCmd and 3dsMax plugins that referred to a deprecated Slave property.
Draft Improvements
- Added support for distributed encoding jobs.
Houdini Improvements
- Fixed a bug in the Houdini plugin that referred to a deprecated Slave property.
Maxwell Improvements
- Fixed a bug in the plugin where some failed cleanup code could fail the Job.
Maya Improvements
- Improved logging during Maya script jobs.
- Script jobs now fail if no script file could be found in the Job settings.
- Added suffix to special Maya jobs to help separate them from normal render jobs.
- Updated the integrated submitter to include the proper output path for Redshift.
Modo Improvements
- Updated the Modo plugin to handle pathmapping on additional item channels.
RVIO Improvements
- Fixed some UI errors that occurred in the Monitor submitter for RVIO.
Sketchup Improvements
- Added Sketchup 2016 to the integrated submission script installer.
VRay Spawner
- Added config entry to start the timeout regardless of whether or not a render has already been started.
- Updated plugin to have more accurate timeouts.
