Deadline fixes in Redshift plugin for 3ds Max

Heads-up for any Redshift customers using Deadline in 3ds Max – some long-standing compatibility issues have recently been fixed as of Redshift version 2025.1.1.

The following issues were fixed:

  • Using Cryptomatte or Beauty AOVs in a scene caused other AOVs to receive incorrect filenames
  • Beauty AOV filenames would receive no frame numbers
  • Cryptomatte AOV filenames would not use the correct frame number format
  • Unused buffers would be written to file for AOVs with global light group set to ‘None’ or ‘Remainder’
  • When Redshift EXR Output is enabled, some render output files could be subsequently overwritten by Deadline
  • When Redshift EXR Output is enabled, the main output filename would not use the correct frame number format

I have also provided some suggestions to the Deadline development team that will improve compatibility further, but meanwhile all these issues were possible to work around by modifying only the Redshift plugin.
