Hi,
I believe the Deadline Mobile iPhone app icon needs to be updated with a higher resolution. It looks really fuzzy on the higher resolution screen on my new iPhone 4S.

Also, just checking, but is the Deadline Mobile app currently fully supported on iOS 5? I’ve not found any bugs, but just thought to ask.
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks Mike! The icon resolution issue should be resolved in the next iPhone app update. Odds are we’ll try to release updates for all our mobile apps around the time that 5.1 is released.
AFAIK, there are no issues with our app on iOS 5, so we consider it a supported platform.

Hi,
Great. Thanks Ryan.
Can we start looking at implementing remote execute commands into the mobile apps? ie: making the mobile app more than just a ‘viewer’ tool?
ie: Can we start off with putting the basic resume, suspend, re-queue, delete, archive job commands into the mobile apps, piggybacking on the existing security permissions setup so that say, only normal users can affect their own submitted jobs.
Thanks,
Mike
While we would like to add more functionality to the mobile apps at some point, I’m not sure where it fits on our short term road map. I’m sure we’ll discuss this internally once 5.1 is shipped.
Cheers,
Would it make more sense to be doing this development in HTML 5 and let the OS handle rendering different resolutions? That way we could also get Android/Wp7 versions simultaneously.
Hi,
Just to add that the iOS app name of “Deadline Mobile” is too long and ends up being displayed as “Deadli…obile”, which is the only app I have on my phone that does this. I believe there is a low limit on the number of characters, something like 12 or 13 and “Deadline Mobile” including the space is 15. How about we just call the new app version “Deadline” as its pretty obvious its on a mobile!
Mike
Hey Mike,
I honestly don’t know how we’ve overlooked this for so long. We’ve made the change internally.
Cheers,
