Deadline monitor: loss of IP addresses after shutdown of my workers

Hello everyone,

I’m using version 10.3 of deadline

On deadline Monitor, I could notice the loss of IP address (in the column “IP Address” of deadline Monitor) of a worker after a shutdown.

This is a random behavior that can happen on any worker of my park.

For example, if I shut down a random worker 3 times in a row, the first 3 shutdowns will be fine, but on the 4th shutdown, deadline monitor will lose the worker’s IP address.

The problem is that we’re using Wake On LAN in deadline to switch workers on and off according to the jobs in our listing.

Unfortunately, after losing an IP address in deadline, Wake On LAN is unable to switch on the workers and redirects us to this message: “An invalid IP address was specified”.

When I try to use another WakeOnLAN software, I have no trouble switching on all my internal machines, even those that no longer have an IP address in deadline monitor.

I’ve made sure that my IP addresses for any worker are reserved in my DHCP.

I also tried unchecking/checking “Use Worker ‘s IP address for Remote Control’ in ‘Configure Repository Options’.

I also tried to set the addresses in a fixed way in the properties of each worker. “Host Name/IP Address Override.

Finally, I tried to check “Use FQDN for Machine Name Instead of host name”, but unfortunately most of my jobs remain in “Queued” status, as the workers in the group boundaries are still waiting to work with the basic worker names without my domain behind them.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Thomas
