Deadline PDG scheduler Job stuck in queue

Hello,
recently updated Houdini to 18.5.499 and now my jobs/tasks are just stuck in queue with no errors.

I am using the deadline scheduler in Houdini’s topnet.

Turning on verbose logging showed me no errors. Only that the scheduler is starting the MQ Relay and it ends there.

If you right click on the job and hit ‘Find Render Candidates’ do your Workers show up as valid candidates?

And if they do, could you try limiting the machine list to a single worker and watching the Worker log to see what it’s up to? It’s possible there’s an error showing up as the Worker picks up the job, but before the job itself starts. So it could be stuck in a loop of “Pickup job” → “Fail” ->“Pickup job”. Usually it’s a licensing error, but we’ll have to see to be sure.

Thanks Justin
Bingo! I hit ’ Find Render Candidates’ and it shows PDGDeadline plugin not enabled.

How do I resolve this?

Assuming you’ve installed the plugin from SideFX’s steps - Deadline Scheduler

In the Monitor under Tools → Configure Plugins → PDGDeadline and check off the ‘Enabled’ box at the bottom right.

Hi Justin, thanks for the help.
I don’t see a PDGDeadline in the Configure Plugins Page. Should I install it, if so how?

using H19.5.493 and Deadline 10.1.23.6, seems the only PDG parameters are on the Deadline TOP node. Wish I can make some changes on the deadline instead of Houdini

Are you using SideFX’s DeadlineScheduler or the ROP?

If your jobs are stuck in the queue like mentioned above, right click them and choose ‘Find Render Candidates’ to see why the Workers aren’t able to pick tasks up.
