Deadline Repository 10.1.22.4 hung during upgrade, repository version now says 0.0.0.0

I stopped all workers and ran the installer for 10.1.22.4 to upgrade our 10.1.19.4 Repository. Everything went as normal until the end when installer said “Setting Permissions”. I let it hang for two hours and it never finished…

I checked the installer logs in /tmp/ and saw no errors… mongodb also appeared to be running fine (no errors in the logs there either) so I hesitantly killed the installer process from terminal.

Our Deadline clients are able to connect just fine and are auto-upgrading on first launch to 10.1.22.4 as expected, but checking the repo version number in Deadline Monitor and it says 0.0.0.0.

Should I ignore?

I’m also finding this. I upgraded my own repo locally from 21 to 22 no problem.

When updating a Windows server it hangs and I see this issue too

I’ll update if the install goes through and reports correctly.

UPDATE: It failed with DB connection errors, but did install and auto-updated clients with the 0.0.0.0 listed for the server.

I re-installed whilst clicking ‘Run As Administrator’ (even though am logged in as Administrator) running through the installer again still took the same amount of time, but didn’t give any errors and now reports the correct version.

If you could be so kind, could you show me what your repository.ini contains? I want to compare to mine.

I read in another post that Deadline reads the version from here. I don’t think there’s any sensitive info in there… but please check before posting.

Wow! We just hit this bug this morning, was pulling out my hair. Thanks for posting it here. Rolling back for now.
