This is the error that 3dsmaxcmd.exe is printing out:
Usually, Backburner needs to be properly installed on the machine before 3dsmax will render properly, and we run 3dsmaxcmd.exe before launching the max job to confirm that this is the case. Normally, it should print out that it can’t open a max file, which is normal because we don’t pass any command line arguments to it. Because it prints out that backburner error, we fail the render.
There are 2 things you can try:
Make sure that backburner was properly installed on the machine, and that you can run 3dsmaxcmd.exe from a DOS prompt (without any arguments) without it printing out any backburner errors or crashing.
Disable the 3dsmaxcmd.exe check in the 3dsmax plugin configuration in the Monitor.
While we recommend (1), if (2) seems to resolve the problem for now, that should be fine.
Cheers,
