define custom user when submitting?

Is it possible to define a user for a given submission made by the deadlinecommandbg.exe ?

There is a flag that can be used to set the user, but i think thats a global flag for the whole computer, not per job. We have a central “submitter” machine that does a lot of remote submissions for other offices where our main farm is at, and we would like to still be able to show which user sent which job.

Switching the main deadline user before submission might cause some weird racing conditions when multiple jobs are being submitted at the same time.

You can use the “UserName” entry in the job info file:

UserName=someone

This allows you to set the job’s user to someone other than current Deadline user.
