We just updated to Deadline 2.7. Using our previous version, if a file completed and had a dependent file following it, I could delete the completed file before the dependent file was made active. Now with 2.7, if I delete the completed file before the Pending file is made active, the Pending file is never made active and just sits Pending. Is there a feature to allow deleting completed files before Pendings are made active?
Hi Ken,
In the Dependencies dialog, there is a check-box to resume the job on
deleted dependencies. We decided to make this optional because if the
dependent job relies on output files from a job that has been deleted,
one might not want the dependent job to resume and then fail because of
missing images.
By default, dependent jobs only resume on completed dependencies.
Cheers,
- Ryan

Thanks Ryan
I am submitting by maxscript, so do you know off hand which SMTD functions sets/unsets this?
P.S. I hear from my sister that it has been still snowing in 'Winterpeg'
There isn’t an SMTD function to set this yet, but if you’re writing to
the job info file directly, you can set this option:
ResumeOnDeletedDependencies=true
All available job info file options are explained here:

Hope this helps!

BTW, it had only snowed in the morning, and it had all melted by the end
of the day, so that doesn’t count…
Thanks Ryan
I'm still glad I moved from Winnipeg in '82
