Different sources to different PRTs

A low grade wish, I’d like to be able to send different Pflow events to different PRT files. Right now all the particles go to one file, but it would be nice if I could get them split up so I could save more than one PRT per partition process.

I end up having to tweak densities and % loaded when I collect the PRT’s anyway, and would like more granularity when doing that.

I second that, Chad!

You could possibly work around by setting local Render operators in each Event instead of using one global Render operator. Then you would set one event to Geometry and all others to Phantom and check only the PFlow Geometry checkbutton in the Krakatoa GUI. Save partitions. Then set the next event to Geometry and the previous one to Phantom and save new partitions. Continue moving the Geometry setting from event to event keeping the rest Phantoms and you should be able to “extract” each event to a separate PRT sequence or partitions set.

Of course this is a bit convoluted but it could be scripted.

Oh, no, that’s what I have been doing.

The problem is I have to re-process the particles each time. I’d rather process the particles once, then send event01 particles to a PRT, and event02 particles to a different PRT, etc. So one task would involve multiple outputs.

It’s more of a workflow and speed issue than a functionality issue.
