DL6 Feature Request: Manage Pools/Groups Total Memory Column

Hello,

I would like to request a feature for the Manage Pools and Manage Group interfaces.

I’d like to have a column for Total Memory available in the Manage Pools/Groups windows.

A little about our farm, and why this feature is absolutely essential:
We use Pools for specific shows (show_a, show_b, etc) and Groups for the amount of RAM a machine has (8GB, 16GB,…,48GB).

With Deadline 5, I could change the pools and groups via the Slaves window, which allowed me to sort by memory, and make sure each slave had the correct memory Groups assigned, as well as make sure each show had an equal amount of slaves in each memory group.

We’re already working on a solution for this for Deadline 7. Instead of just the slave name and pool/group columns in the manage pools/groups dialogs, you’ll now have access to every column that appears in the slave list panel. So in your case, you would enable the Total Memory column and sort on it, and then apply your pools/groups.

We don’t have any specifics yet, but the beta will probably be starting in a few months.
